Craziest drivers EVER!
We drove from South Carolina today to Newark, Delaware. The drivers throughout DC and Maryland were crazy and very dangerous. I got freaked out going through North Carolina too because we were hydroplaning on the freeway from the heavy rain. Not a fun day except for seeing Rachel and Mike in Arlington. They showed us a great Lebanese restaurant!
Staying tonight in Delaware and hopefully have some good driving in the rain tomorrow.

South Carolina
We had a great time here relaxing with Mum and Papa, Alan's grandparents. They fed us well, let us sleep a lot, and we finally got to meet Alan's newest cousin, Aiden. He's a cutie!
Alan also got in touch with a friend from middle school that has lived here since. He is the DJ at the Boston Red Sox's local Triple A team in Greenville, South Carolina. We had dinner at his family's home and they got to catch up.
Papa took us to Clemson University's botanical garden.

Then, we took some family pictures:

Tomorrow morning, we are off toward Boston! We'll keep you up to date.

Thursday, August 12
Hello our 3 followers (and everyone else who is reading)!
We spent today in Chicago with Sam and Robin, Alan's friends, and their new baby Alex.
This morning, though, I had a phone interview for a possible job in Newton, MA. I honestly have no idea how it went but they sent me an application, so $3 later, I printed out five pages and filled it out. Reality Changers, look forward to some phone calls from Massachusetts or New York (hopefully you all are not at camp when they try to call; I'll explain if you are). :-)
So, one more day in Chicago hopefully getting hair cuts and finishing doing laundry. Thank you Bill for your hospitality and washer and dryer!

Goodbye Denver
We had a great time in Denver with Ben and Lesley and now the weather is great so we're off for Chicago. Omaha, Nebraska is about a day's car trip so we'll stop there tonight and get to Chicago Wednesday night. Pics from the iPhone to come.

Update 8/10
So, I finally have real internet and wanted to share a few things:
Las Vegas was fun but ridiculously windy. We walked around all the hotels and gambled and lost $20 at the Paris Hotel. Bummer!
The next day, we drove to the Grand Canyon and got there around sunset. Awesome pics and views! We found a campground just outside of the park and froze!!! Apparently the high desert gets cold at night...

Zion National Park was after a morning at the Grand Canyon and we loved it. There's a super long tunnel through the mountains and some amazing natural arches and bridges. That night we made it to just before Bryce Canyon National Park and camped in the cold again.

Bryce Canyon was beautiful! (Check out the pics)

We got the annual National Park pass with our receipts from the previous two parks. We're excited about that pass because we can go to many more and probably some day trips in New England when we want to.
After Bryce, we drove about 500 miles to Denver. It was a very long day but we happened to stop at a Mexican restaurant for lunch and it was so tasty! Why did we have to find the best Mexican food ever in the middle of Utah?!

We drove through the Denver mountains, through all the ski resorts, and ended up in a hail storm that was quite scary. We were only ten miles away so we kept going and made it to Ben and Lesley's house. Leftovers for dinner and finally some showers! A good night's rest and an internet day at the house. Tonight, Ben and Lesley are going to show us a bit of Denver and tomorrow we're going to see what the storms are like to see if we're going to take off for Chicago tomorrow or Wednesday.

We're off!
So, three bucks later and two mishaps with this app, I am starting this blog finally.
Alan and I left San Francisco on August 3 and headed down to San Diego. On the way we stopped in LA at Mideival Times and enjoyed the dinner show. Pics to come from that later.
We packed our upack and said our goodbyes.
On thursday the 6th, we left for temecula wine tasting and Las Vegas.
